Get certified to operate ambulances with Ontario’s Class F license. Hands-on training, expert instructors, and real-world readiness.


​​F LICENSE DEFINITION:In Ontario, a Class F license specifically allows the holder to drive small buses or vehicles that have a capacity of 10 to 24 passengers. This includes vehicles like:

  • Ambulance
  • Small school buses
  • Passenger vans or minibuses
  • Transit buses (of this specific passenger capacity)


Pine Valley Driving Academy, Ambulance Driver Training Program is designed for individuals pursuing a Class F license in Ontario. Whether you're entering the healthcare field or upgrading your driving credentials, this course prepares you for safe, confident ambulance operation. Upon successful completion of the road test at the DriveTest Centre the student will receive Ontario Class F License.

KEY DETAILS ABOUT THE CLASS F LICENSE IN ONTARIO:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must hold a valid Class G (or higher) license.
  • You must pass a written knowledge test and a road test.
  • You must have a medical examination to ensure you are fit to drive a bus.


Purpose: This license is aimed for driving ambulance, smaller passenger vehicles, and is typically used for people driving smaller buses (like school buses for a limited number of students) or smaller transit vehicles (like ambulance).

Endorsements: In Ontario, if you wish to drive larger passenger vehicles (e.g., buses with over 24 passengers), you'd need a Class B or Class C license.


STEP BY STEP PROCESS TO GET YOUR F LICENSE: 

  1. Must have a completed MTO Medical Report Form from a doctor.                         Please print the attached pdf form double-sided only, otherwise it will not be accepted by DriveTest Centre. Click on "Medical Report Form.pdf"



       2. Must pass Class "F" License knowledge test at any DriveTest Center, walk-in,               no appointments necessary

          Written tests are comprised of 50 multiple choice questions for Class F 

                     Class F Rules 30 questions

                     Class F Road Signs 20 questions.

      3. Schedule practical training sessions

      4. Successfully pass your road test for Class F

OPTION 1: CLASS F PACKAGE: Total cost is $700. HST Exempt, no taxes

Breakdown of Package:

  • 5.0 Hours for Driving, Inspection & Review
  • 2.0 Hours Truck supplied for the MTO road test

This package will be completed in 2 sessions. Training provided in ambulance only. Suitable for students who have highway driving experience.


OPTION II: CLASS F PACKAGE  Total cost is $950 HST Exempt, no taxes
Breakdown of Package:

  • 7.5 Hours for Driving, Inspection & Review
  • 2.0 Hours Truck supplied for the MTO road test 

This package will be completed in 2 or 3 sessions.  Training provided in ambulance only.


OPTION III: CLASS F PACKAGE  Total cost is $1,200 HST Exempt, no taxes
Breakdown of Package:

  • 10 Hours for Driving, Inspection & Review
  •  2 Hours Truck supplied for the MTO road test 

This package will be completed in 3 or 4 sessions  Training provided in ambulance only. 



EXTRA TRAINING: 

1 Hour Session                          $115

Ambulance Rental for road test  $250


ADDITIONAL FEES PAYABLE TO DriveTest CENTRE:

  • Knowledge Test:   $ 23.75
  • Road Test Fees:   $ 99.00
